The 2007 Harley davidson Fatboy saw some major changes to the bike, including: thicker bars, hidden wiring, 200 rear wheel, 17” rims, 96 Cube engine, and a 6 speed gearbox. These are talking significant changes.

You can really feel the torque difference, up 17% from the 88 cube 2006 engine, 50 calibre bullet holes in the rims.

2005 saw the 15 year anniversary of the Harley Davidson Fatboy. For over 15 years, the Fat Boy has ruled the heavyweight cruiser class by blending classic hardtail styling with a heart-pounding counter-balanced V-Twin engine. The 15th Anniversary Edition Fat Boy commemorated the model’s journey with an extra helping of chrome, performance and style.

By 1990, with the introduction of the “Fat Boy”, Harley Davidson became the sales leader in the heavyweight (over 750 cc) market. At the time of the Fat Boy model introduction a story rapidly spread that its silver paint job and other features were inspired by the World War II American B-29 bomber; and that the Fat Boy name was a combination of the names of the atom bombs (Fat Man and Little Boy) that were dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima respectively.

The Harley Davidson Softail models utilize the big-twin engine (F) and the Softail chassis (ST).

  • Softail models that use small-diameter telescopic forks similar to those used on the Sportster (X) have designations that begin with FXST, e.g., FXSTB (Night Train), FXSTD (Deuce), and FXSTS (Standard).
